Triumph is planning to launch its new 350cc range next month. The bikes could be launched on April 6-7, as the bike maker has an event scheduled on these days.
Triumph is working on 350cc versions of its current 400cc lineup to leverage the changes in tax structure under GST 2.0. Under the revised tax regime, motorcycles above 350cc come under the 40% tax bracket, while those below attract just 18% tax.
The new 350cc engine is expected to be based on the existing 399cc single-cylinder engine, albeit with a reduced bore and stroke. It might not be as powerful as the 400cc unit, which currently powers the Speed T4. However, it will enable Triumph to price it way more competitively against rivals such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
The same engine will also be introduced on the Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, and Thruxton 400.
